Day 1 – Into the Rainforest
09:00 am: Pick-up from your guesthouse.
Cross the Bohorok River and hike westward into Gunung Leuser National Park.
Wildlife encounters: Possible sightings include gibbons, Thomas leaf monkeys, long-tailed and pig-tailed macaques, flying squirrels, hornbills, peacocks, and—if you’re lucky—wild orangutans.
Education: Learn about the rainforest ecosystem, biodiversity, and medicinal plants.
03:30 pm: Arrive at the campsite by the river.
Afternoon: Swim, relax, or enjoy tea/coffee.
Evening: Dinner cooked over the campfire, followed by games, songs, or stargazing.
Overnight in tents with mattress, pillow, and sleeping bag.
Day 2 – Deeper into the Jungle
Wake to the sounds of the forest. After breakfast, trek deeper into the jungle for around 5 hours.
Greater chance of encountering wildlife and exploring remote rainforest areas.
Lunch: Simple jungle meal served on a hilltop with scenic views.
Afternoon trek continues through varied landscapes.
Evening: Set up camp next to the Bohorok River. Enjoy another delicious dinner.
Night: Relax, play cards, sing around the campfire, or simply take in the sounds of the nocturnal jungle under the stars.
Day 3 – Final Trek & Jungle Tubing
Morning: Spot monitor lizards, turtles, and colorful river butterflies.
Breakfast, then choose between a short 3-hour trek or relaxation at a nearby waterfall.
Lunch: Fresh jungle fruit salad.
Afternoon: Begin your return journey.
Jungle Taxi: Float back to Bukit Lawang on oversized rubber rings, guided by a rafting captain.
Return to your guesthouse around late afternoon.
