The Experience: From Garden to Bar

1. A Warm Welcome & Garden Harvest

Your journey begins with a refreshing local herbal blend and an inspiring chat. Aini will share her story of how a small-scale, sustainable soap business empowers local women and fosters chemical-free living in her village. Next, you’ll stroll through her lush organic garden. Touch, smell, and harvest wild ingredients directly from the source—from fragrant lemongrass and vibrant turmeric to soothing hibiscus and aromatic pandan leaves. You’ll discover how Sumatra’s native flora provides natural healing, rich colors, and delicate scents without a single synthetic additive.

2. The Art of Cold-Press Soap Making

Step into the workshop space where the magic happens. Aini will guide you step-by-step through the traditional cold-press method. Using premium, planet-friendly bases like pure coconut oil, essential plant extracts, and your freshly harvested herbs, you will mix, pour, and mold your own custom creation. By the end of the session, you'll have shaped two beautifully wrapped, custom-scented soap bars to take home.

3. Tea, Treats, and Reflection
While your custom soaps set, unwind with authentic local snacks and more herbal tea. This is your time to share stories, learn practical zero-waste lifestyle tips, and reflect on how conscious tourism can protect the breathtaking ecosystem of Bukit Lawang.
