  • 19:00–20:00 – Meet Your Guide

    • After dinner, your local guide will pick you up at your accommodation and brief you on the night trek. Together, you’ll walk to the entrance of Gunung Leuser National Park or another designated location (such as Tualang Gepang, Landak River, Selang Pangeran, or Batu Katak).

    • Along the way, your guide will help you tune in to the forest — the chirping of insects, the croaks of frogs, and the rustling of unseen creatures beginning their nightly rituals.

    20:30 – Begin Your Nocturnal Exploration

    • Step quietly under the canopy and let your senses adjust to the dark. Your experienced guide will lead you along safe jungle trails, helping you spot and identify fascinating nocturnal wildlife, such as:

    • Slow Lorises – the gentle, wide-eyed primates that move silently among the trees

    • Eagle Owls – watching from above with piercing yellow eyes

    • Snakes & Reptiles – often camouflaged on branches or forest floor

    • Musangs (Civets) – shy, cat-like creatures known for their night-time foraging

    • Mouse Deer – one of the world’s smallest hoofed mammals

    • This immersive night walk will open your eyes (and ears) to a side of the rainforest few travelers ever experience.

    22:30 – Jungle Snack & Reflection

    • Take a short break to enjoy local snacks and crackers, prepared by our team. Relax under the starlit canopy and listen to the jungle symphony — a chorus of insects, frogs, and night birds echoing through the forest.

    • Your guide will share stories about local wildlife, conservation efforts, and the balance between humans and nature in this protected ecosystem.

    23:00 – Return to Bukit Lawang

    • Make your way back to the village, guided by the soft glow of headlamps and fireflies dancing in the trees.

    • Arrive at your accommodation with a new appreciation for the rainforest’s hidden world.
