Discover the soul of North Sumatra on this 7-day immersive journey through rainforest wilderness, highland volcanoes, and ancient Batak culture.
This thoughtfully designed itinerary blends ethical wildlife encounters, local village life, and iconic natural landscapes, offering a deep and meaningful travel experience beyond the usual tourist trail.
Your adventure begins in Bukit Lawang, at the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park, one of the last remaining rainforests where wild orangutans roam freely. Trek deep into the jungle with a fully licensed guide, learn about native flora and fauna, and end your day drifting peacefully down the Bohorok River on a traditional rafting boat.
Beyond the jungle, you’ll step into local village life, traveling by traditional becak, visiting rice fields and palm sugar plantations, and gaining insight into the daily rhythms of rural Sumatra. This is tourism that connects — respectful, educational, and community-based.
The journey continues into the cool highlands of Berastagi, where misty landscapes frame the dramatic presence of Mount Sinabung. Before dawn, climb Mount Sibayak to witness a breathtaking sunrise over volcanic peaks, followed by a soothing soak in natural hot springs.
Your final chapter unfolds at the legendary Lake Toba, the largest volcanic lake in the world. On Samosir Island, explore ancient Batak heritage — from the stone chairs of King Siallagan to traditional dance performances overlooking the lake. Slow down, sip local coffee with panoramic views, and enjoy the calm energy of this sacred place.
This tour is ideal for travelers seeking authentic experiences, ethical nature encounters, and a deeper cultural connection to Sumatra.
