Day 1 – Arrival in Bukit Lawang (Gateway to the Jungle), Welcome to North Sumatra!
Your private driver will meet you at Kualanamu International Airport or your hotel in Medan for a scenic 4–5 hour drive to Bukit Lawang, the peaceful riverside village bordering Gunung Leuser National Park.
Along the way, enjoy views of palm oil plantations, traditional villages, and tropical countryside.
Upon arrival, check in to your comfortable eco-lodge and relax.
Depending on your arrival time, you may:
Visit the Bat Cave (short walk from the village)
Take a guided village walk to meet local families
Enjoy dinner by the river and the sounds of the jungle at night
Overnight: Bukit Lawang (Orangutan Villa / EcoLodge / Jungle Inn / Orangutan Hotel / Garden Inn)
Day 2 – Ethical Jungle Trekking & Orangutan Encounter
After breakfast, meet your licensed local guide at 8:30 AM for a full-day eco-friendly trek into Gunung Leuser National Park — one of the last remaining rainforests where wild orangutans can be seen in their natural habitat.
Trek for 6–7 hours through pristine rainforest, guided by your expert local team who will share insights about the area’s flora, fauna, and conservation efforts.
Wildlife you might spot:
Orangutans swinging freely in the canopy
Thomas leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques, black gibbons, and white-handed gibbons
Colorful hornbills, butterflies, and tropical plants
Stop for a picnic lunch in the jungle, then descend toward the Bohorok River for a refreshing swim.
End your trek in an exciting and eco-friendly way — by traditional tube rafting (“jungle taxi”) down the river, floating back to Bukit Lawang.
Return to your lodge in the afternoon and enjoy a relaxing evening surrounded by nature.
Overnight: Bukit Lawang
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Day 3 – Return to Medan
After breakfast, enjoy your final morning in Bukit Lawang — take a walk along the river or relax on your balcony with jungle views.

If your flight schedule allows, your driver can arrange a short visit to Medan’s cultural landmarks, such as:
Maimun Palace – the royal residence of the Sultan of Deli
