Day 1 – Arrival in Bukit Lawang (Gateway to the Jungle), Welcome to North Sumatra!
Your private driver will meet you at Kualanamu International Airport or your hotel in Medan for a scenic 4–5 hour drive through villages, palm plantations, and forested hills to Bukit Lawang, the charming riverside gateway to Gunung Leuser National Park.
Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation and relax. You can stroll along the river, enjoy local food, or simply unwind after your journey surrounded by lush jungle.
Overnight: Bukit Lawang (Orangutan Villa / EcoLodge / Jungle Inn / Orangutan Hotel / Garden Inn)
Day 2 – Begin Your 2D/1N Ethical Jungle Trek (Day 1)
After breakfast (around 8–9 AM), meet your certified eco-guide and begin your two-day jungle trekking adventure in Gunung Leuser National Park — one of the last refuges of the Sumatran orangutan.
Hike 7–8 hours through pristine rainforest, learning about medicinal plants, jungle fruits, and forest ecology.
Your experienced guide will help you spot orangutans, Thomas leaf monkeys, macaques, hornbills, and gibbons in their natural habitat.
Arrive at your riverside campsite in the late afternoon. Swim, relax, and enjoy dinner prepared by your guides.
Spend the night listening to the sounds of the jungle under the stars.
Overnight: Jungle Camp (simple bamboo shelter with mattress, blanket & mosquito net)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3 – Jungle Trekking (Day 2) → Bat Cave & Village Tour
Wake up to the songs of birds and gibbons echoing through the rainforest. After breakfast, continue trekking for 3–4 hours, exploring deeper into the forest and spotting more wildlife.
Return to Bukit Lawang around midday — your jungle adventure ends with an exciting “jungle taxi” river tubing ride back down the Bohorok River (optional and weather-dependent).
In the afternoon, take a guided village walk to meet local families and learn about daily life, or visit the mysterious Bat Cave, filled with impressive stalactites and stalagmites.
Relax for the evening in your riverside bungalow.
Overnight: Bukit Lawang (same accommodation as Day 1)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Day 4 – Return to Medan
After breakfast, enjoy your final morning in Bukit Lawang — perhaps take one last river swim or coffee by the jungle view — before your private transfer back to Medan hotel or Kualanamu Airport (approx. 4–5 hours).
Your eco-adventure concludes with memories of orangutans, rainforest sounds, and local smiles — a journey that truly makes a difference.
