Day 1 — Welcome to Sumatra | Medan → Bukit Lawang (4–5 hrs)
Arrive Kualanamu Airport (KNO). Meet your local driver and travel through villages and countryside to Bukit Lawang. Lunch stop en route (own account). Meet your local operator Joko and settle into your riverside eco-lodge.

Day 2 — Bukit Lawang Village & Culture:
Walk rice fields and small farms; meet palm-sugar makers and local families. Optional: Tangkahan elephant conservation visit (no riding), or a home-style cooking class using local produce. Sunset by the river.

Days 3–4 — Ethical Jungle Trek | Gunung Leuser National Park
Enter the rainforest with licensed eco-guides in search of orangutans, Thomas leaf monkeys, gibbons and hornbills. Learn forest medicine, help prepare camp dinner, and sleep by the river. Next day, continue trekking before returning to town by fun river tubing on the Bohorok.
Stay: 1 night jungle camp + 1 night Bukit Lawang lodge

Pace: 4–6 hrs trekking/day, undulating trails

Day 5 — Bukit Lawang → Berastagi (4–5 hrs)
Scenic drive to cool-climate Berastagi. Short visit to the “Ghost Village” on the lower slopes of Mt. Sinabung (abandoned after the 2010 eruption). Evening stroll at the fruit market.

Day 6 — Sunrise Hike Mt. Sibayak & Hot Springs
04:15 start. Hike ~90 minutes to the crater rim of Mt. Sibayak for sunrise over steaming vents. Soak in Lau Debuk-Debuk hot springs, then browse Berastagi’s colorful market.

Day 7 — Berastagi → Lake Toba → Samosir Island (drive + ferry)
Visit Sipiso-Piso Waterfall (120 m) and Dokan traditional village. Ferry across Lake Toba to tranquil Samosir Island.

Day 8 — Samosir: Batak Heritage
Explore Huta Siallagan (ancient stone courts), watch a Batak dance performance, and visit the Sidabutar King’s Tomb. Panoramas from Simanindo hill.

Day 9 — Samosir → Singkil (full day)

Day 10 — Tailana Island (Banyak Islands)

Day 11 — Bangkaru Turtle Conservation
Boat to Bangkaru, a protected turtle-nesting sanctuary. Join rangers (ethically and at distance) to learn about nest protection and patrols; short forest walk. Return to Tailana.

Days 12–13 — Tailana Slow Days
Two free days for snorkeling, kayaking, or optional coral-reef guiding / mangrove walks / light volunteering with the conservation team (subject to on-site availability).

Boat back to Singkil; private overland to Medan with a lunch stop at Sajjan Heritage Farm. Evening at leisure.
